Panama City Beach, Florida may look alot different than it did a decade ago, with all

the new high rise condominiums along the strip, but some of the good old "mom and pop"

motels still exist. For vacationers who are on a tight budget, or who just don't want

all that "fancy stuff", there are still numerous options along the 27 miles of the

Panama City Beach Gulf Coast. Surf Drive, which is on the eastern end of the strip

off Thomas Drive offers several small motels right across from the beach. Andy's Motel and

Apartments, and Lolleye on the Beach are just a couple of options. Should you prefer to

stay in the heart of it all, Bikini Beach Resort and Motel is a low priced, conveniently

located motel that's been around forever. It's within walking distance to Shipwreck LTD

(The largest outlet store on the strip), as well as only about 1 mile from Walmart,

Carrabas Italian Grill, Pineapple Willy's, Coyote Ugly Saloon, and more.

Then there's the quiet west end of the strip, where you'll find the pet friendly Pineapple

Villas, or the family owned and operated Sugar Sands Inn and Suites. Both of which are

in a location near privately owned beach houses, instead of busy high rises. Not only

will you have less traffic, noise, and partying going on around you, you will feel like

you have a little piece of the beach all for yourself. The beaches behind these motels tend

to be less crowded, even on Holidays and weekends. Whatever your looking for in an

Motels are a great place to stay for vacationers on a budget, or simply just don't need all the fancy

extras. There are motels such as the Holiday Inn Sunspree, Days Inn Beach, and even the Marriott,

which are generally familiar to most. Some of the smaller, family owned and operated motels are still
